Virginia eLearning Backpack Initiative
The eLearning Backpack Initiative, funded largely by state grant, is providing a tablet computer to every 9th grade student at Bayside, Green Run and Kempsville high schools. In addition, students are receiving supporting digital content, applications and access to content creation tools. Miss Green Run Pageant
Come see who will be crowned the next Miss Green Run on Thursday Jan 29th at 6:30pm in the Auditorium. Tickets are $3 in advance, and $5 at the door. See Ms Baylor, Ms Cox, or Ms K for details.
Have you ever wondered how much teachers really know? Do you think that you know just as much as they do? Well here's your chance to "show what you know" at the 1st Annual Student/Faculty Trivia Challenge. Grab some friends and a couple of teachers to make a team of 2-3 and enter to win the Trvia Challenge on Tuesday Jan 27th at 1pm (staff day). PTSA Spirit Night
Sunday, January 25 from 4 pm - 8 pm it is SPIRIT Night at Landstown Commons IHOP! Show your school ID or a flyer and the PTSA will receive 15% of your total purchase! With each adult entree purchased, 1 child 12 or under eats FREE! Proceeds benefit our GRADFEST celebration. Click here for a flyer.
City Wide SCA Dodgeball Tournament
The City-Wide SCA Dodgeball Tournament will be held on Monday, January 26th (VBCPS Staff Day) at 4:00pm at Larkspur Middle School and will benefit Edmarc Hospice for Children. If you are interested in playing, stop by Room 220 or 221 and see Ms Baylor or Ms K for more information. Teams must be coed and may be made up of teachers, staff, and students from any VB school. Team packets are due by Wednesday January 21st so get your soon!
January is Reading Month
The Class of 2016 is sponsoring a book drive that will run January 15th- 30th. Please bring a gently used or new children's book to donate. A collection box will be located in the main foyer.
The Virginia Beach Reading Council distributes books at events all over the city to youngsters in our own community. Share the gift of literacy!
The 2014-2015 Yearbook is once again on sale for the month of January. This will be the last chance to PRE-ORDER your copy of the yearbook. Once the yearbooks are ordered there will be a limited number of copies. Make sure you get one by ordering today. See Mrs. DeSarro in room 125 or the English office. The cost is $70.
