Nominations for PTSA office for the 2012-13 school year are now being accepted. If you would like to have a greater role in impacting the quality of education at Green Run High School, please consider serving on the executive board of the Parent, Teacher and Student Association. The PTSA supports many school initiatives in addition to providing scholarships for graduating seniors. No prior experience needed. Green Run receives the Annual Drop-Out Teddy Award. Pictured: Dr. Parker, Mr. James Imbriale, Administrative Intern and Mr. Shawn Wilson, Graduation Coach, display the Drop-Out Teddy Award and certificate which recognizes the high school that has made the most improvement in reducing the school drop-out rate. Green Run has reduced the schools drop-out rate this year by 1.9%.

Attention Students!
Yearbooks have been ordered so come by room 410 and reserve yours today! They are $70 and only a limited number have been ordered, so if you want one, see Mrs. Bishop or Ms. Viado to pay for it now!
Also, if you missed your chance last year, there are a small amount of last year's yearbooks on sale for $50 each.

There is only one more sessions of behind the wheel for the school year: Session 10 begins May 21. Pre registration forms are available in Guidance and the Main Office. Please be sure to fill out ALL information on the form to be considered for the upcoming sessions. Behind the Wheel is taken during study block/lunch, before and after school, and 4th block for early release students. Be sure to turn in a form today! Future Virginia Teachers Award
Congratulations to Billieanne S. for winning the Future Virginia Teachers Award! The best student in the Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow class is awarded this honor. Billieanne will receive a contract to teach for Virginia Beach Public Schools upon completion of her college education.

SOL Testing and Optional Second Bus Runs
Announcing Optional 2nd Bus Run Schedule During High School SOL Testing
When: Tuesday, May 15 through Thursday, May 2 4
For Whom: High school students transported to school on a regular school bus from within the schools zone.
Students who have scheduled SOL tests will report to school at the regular time and follow the testing schedule.

Optional Schedule
Students not scheduled for testing on any given day during the testing window of May 15 - May 24 may choose to follow one of two options:
- Option #1
Students may choose to ride their regular school bus at the usual time. During the SOL testing block (7:25 a.m. - 9:40 a.m.), most students not testing will be assigned to a supervised study hall. - Option #2
Students may choose to ride the optional second run of their regular school bus. Upon arrival at school at approximately 9:45 a.m., students will go to scheduled classes since the SOL testing block will be over.

Please be sure and updated this information with the Guidance Office before the end of school! Many important pieces of information are sent home to students over the summer. If we do not have your new information on file, you will be missing out on report cards, testing scores, back to school information, etc.
