Summer School 2018

Beginning May 29, parents/students will be able to register online for face-to-face summer school high school courses. Registration and payment for courses will be processed online through the Virginia Beach City Public Schools Web Store. Registration and payment for face-to-face high school courses will be accepted via the web store through June 21 at noon and must be completed before leaving the registration website in order for a student to be enrolled. Students are not officially registered until payment has been received. On-site registration for face-to-face summer school high school courses will be held at the summer school sites Tuesday, June 20, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. and Wednesday, June 21 from 8 a.m. to noon.Students who are interested in enrolling in online summer school classes should visit the Virginia Beach Digital Campus summer school webpage.

The Green Run High School Innovation Lab (iLab)

Enrollment forms are no longer being accepted for the Green Run High School Innovation Lab for 2018-2019. The iLab received close to 100 enrollment forms for only 7 sophomores and 60 incoming freshmen. Due to this, a random lottery will be held on May 24, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Green Run High School library to determine enrollment for 2018-2019. Please click on this link to read a letter from Chris Jacobs, the iLab Lead Teacher and Coordinator, with all the information you need about how the random lottery process and enrollment will work.

Green Run Camps

Green Run is now offering a variety of camps for rising 1st to rising 8th graders.  Each camp is $60 and runs from 8:30am to 12:30pm Monday – Thursday.  To register: print & mail one registration form per camper and send $30.00 NONREFUNDABLE FOR EACH CAMP, or you may mail the total amount owed. The $30 deposit is deducted from the total amount and the balance will be due at registration on the first day of camp. Destination Graduation

Destination Graduation was created for students and families to help them navigate the journey from pre-kindergarten through high school to make the most of the opportunities available through Virginia Beach City Public Schools. The site may be accessed at the following link: http://www.vbschools.com/compass/destinationgraduation.

New SOL Testing Delivery Software

The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has been working to expand the types of devices that school divisions can use in the administration of Standards of Learning (SOL) online tests. In order to accomplish this goal, the VDOE is upgrading its software from TestNav7 to TestNav8. Instructions for downloading TestNav8 on personal/home electronic devices can be found by clicking this link.

Behind the Wheel

Behind the Wheel applications are on the table in the guidance office.  Please fill out the application completely and return it to the main office. You will be notified when your driving session starts. All applicants need to have a learner’s permit, passed driver education classroom theory (have a green card), and be working on their 45 hour driving log.

Cost is $219.00 and is due the day class begins.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences are held every first and third Wednesday from 2:15 p.m.-2:45 p.m. in the GRHS library. To schedule an appointment, complete and submit the form below.
